Plug cage throttle valve
The valve plug and cage trim use solid valve plugs, which have pressure balancing holes that move within the cage with ports to control flow. This design provides maximum flow for the throttle valve with the valve cage trim. In the closed position, the valve plug moves downwards, closing the port in the flow holder and making contact with the valve seat ring to provide reliable closure. The flow is guided to the valve trim through the port and impacts the center of the flow holder.
The plug is internally guided in the flow holder, controlling the opening and flow rate of the port. The two ends of the flow holder are supported by the valve body and cover, providing a rigid and sturdy design. Valve plugs and flow retainers typically use tungsten carbide to enhance the corrosion resistance of this sturdy valve core.
