How to use drilling and production accessories
In the outlet pipeline, the back pressure valve should be used together with the pulsation damper to absorb the peak flow between the pump and the back pressure valve. Without pulsating dampers, the back pressure valve will open and close rapidly with each pump stroke. When there is a pulsating damper, the back pressure valve will oscillate in the half open and half closed position, so the pulsating damper can reduce the wear rate of the back pressure valve.
For the large flow rate of the siphon, the position of the pump should be close to the outlet of the pump.
When conveying the medium containing suspended solids, a tee (or cross) with pipe plug should be installed at the inlet end of the back pressure valve, so that the pipeline can be cleaned without disassembly.
The back pressure valve is only used as drilling and production accessories. Only when it is used with other pipeline components (such as pulsating damper, safety valve, check valve, stop valve and filter), can it play a great role.
Selection Guide
When selecting the back pressure valve, the following parameters and data must be determined:
A. The diameter of the required back pressure valve is generally the diameter of the pump outlet;
B. The pressure range to be set;
C. What kind of material is needed, which is generally considered from the nature and temperature of the fluid transported. Conventional materials are: PVC, 304, 316, 316L stainless steel, carbon steel, etc;
D. Import and export connection mode, this general requirement is less. However, in some systems, such as food and drinking water production system, some pipelines may have special requirements for connection mode. The common connection methods are internal thread, flange and hose joint.
